It is hoped that the contents of this book will remind successive generations of the impact of two world wars on the village of Merrow, the dreadful circumstances in which so many Merrow men lost their lives and the scale of the sacrifice made on behalf of future generations. The Merrow village war memorial was unveiled by General Lord Rawlinson on the Friday evening of 20th July, 1920.
At the Northern end of Old Merrow Street stands “The Victory Oak”.
